Noiseshaper are known for their distinctive blend of dub, reggae and electronic. Formed in the late 1990s by Vienna-born Axel Hirn and Florian Fleischmann and shaped in Berlin’s underground scene, the duo developed a signature sound of deep basslines, echo-driven atmospheres and soulful vocals.
Their debut Prelaunch Sequence (2001) and The Signal (2003) gained international attention through compilations, radio and major film soundtracks, leading to collaborations with artists like Sly & Robbie, OutKast and Adrian Sherwood. After a long hiatus following Satellite City (2009), Noiseshaper returned in 2019 with longtime bassist Clemens Handler and new material including a rework of Horace Andy’s Skylarking.
In 2025 they released their highly anticipated comeback album Welcome The Unknown, featuring Simple Straw, Jackie Deane and Bernard Fowler, pairing classic dub with modern production and themes from social issues to love and resilience.
On stage, Noiseshaper deliver warm, bass-heavy energy – deeply rooted in dub tradition yet forward-moving, connecting with festival and club audiences alike.
